Dirty Hands

The literature on dirty hands (DH) is fairly substantial by now. However, there are many disagreements and confusions in the dirty hands discourse. This workshop is designed to identify, and perhaps begin to remedy, some of these. The basic question which the workshop seeks to address is whether there is reason, conceptually and/or normatively, to endorse the notion of dirty hands in politics, or whether we had better do without it. Paper-givers are invited to address the problem of dirty hands from a broad range of normative, historical, and critical angles.
