Autonomy in Political Philosophy

Convenor: Ben Colburn (University of Glasgow)

The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers working on the concept of autonomy and the role it plays in political philosophy, with a view to identifying what are the most promising and urgent directions for further inquiry in this area.

Possible topics for papers include (but are not limited to):
 Contrasting conceptions of autonomy;
 Autonomy and neutrality;
 Autonomy as a foundation for liberalism;
 Autonomy and feminism;
 Autonomy and multiculturalism;
 Autonomy and preference-formation;
 Meta-ethical foundations of autonomy.

If you would like to present a paper at this workshop, please send a 500-word abstract, or a full paper, to by 15 May 2012.
